Does anyone have a recommendation for a home monitoring system that would allow me to see what Mom is doing when by herself? I would need to see in 2 different rooms. Thank you.
We had a drop cam. I could watch my mom in living color with sound from anywheres on my computer or iPad. Anyone with the password can watch from anywhere. Our aides all knew we had it, so they were on their best. I lived 350 miles away, but felt like I was there all the time. I also had a motion detector monitor that I bought for $20. As soon as my mom tried to stand on her own, an alarm in my pocket would sound off.
That is why i was wondering if Ann needed an in house monitor or remote location monitor. An in home monitor could be as easy as a baby monitor with camera. These are widely available. Other wise if she is going to be in another location the products are as you said mostly tied to ip addresses. I was hoping OP would answer that question.
ramiller, you need an IP addressable camera connected to internet service in order to monitor remotely. Most elders do not have an internet service, so that adds a monthly expense. Read the specs carefully!!
Is this so u can watch from long distance like while u are at work or while you are just in other part of home. Answer to this question would be helpful as there are different products for each circumstance.
Get a d-link camera. Foscam also has nice cameras but are a bigger bother to install. You need a wireless router to do it best. The d-links install way easier. Foscam offers help to install with their cameras (at least most of them) and now I'm finding I need it.
