When you realize that sibling has lied and is trying to get parents money what do you really do?

Just found out that sibling applied for representation of social security. I have poa. What good is it if this can be done. Trying to keep parents in home with 24/7 care. Now someone else has money. Our eldercare lawyer suggested I apply for guardianship. More money!!!!! social security doesn't recognize poa
