Hi, I'm relatively new in this area. I am looking for product recommendations for my mom. She is currently well and healthy, but I'm looking around for products that can assist her in her everyday life when she grows older. Something that monitors her health/condition would be good too.
Any good products/tech that you know of? (I've already went through the site's section on senior care products)

Replace the toilet with a taller model.
Consider an assist bed rail, they just tuck under the mattress at the head of the bed and give them something to grab when standing and sitting.
Just generally keep your eyes open for everyday items she may be having trouble with and look for easier to use versions... can openers, jar openers, grabbers to help pick things off the floor, good magnifiers to help with small print.
One thing I wish I would have done differently was to go for items made for a higher level of disability than she needed earlier on, it would have saved us from having to upgrade as her condition deteriorated. For example, get a good sturdy bath chair with a back and arms, and buy a commode that you can use over the toilet as well as being a stand alone unit rather than those toilet extensions.
