My mother is in assisted living. Soon her funds will run out and ss and small pension will pay 1/2 of the monthly cost. Then what happens? She is 91 years old and requires full care there. The cost is $5500 a month she collects from ss and small penison about 2500 a month the rest we pay with the funds she still has left in her bank account. With whats left she should have 6 months left until we are at the point where she has no more funds. Is there any governement assistance to make up the shortfall so she can stay in her assisted living place.

I see from your profile that your Mom has Alzheimer's/Dementia, depending on her condition, maybe should could qualify for full payment for continuing care in a nursing home under Medicaid.
