Can anyone give me an idea how long it takes to apply for a Medicaid waiver?

I was told mom is #4 on the list of 5 people in our area.

The department of aging told us we would be getting something in the mail but I am not sure when. Since mom has no assets at all just her Social Security I am trying to get her into an assisted living place that is about a mile from our house. So far there is not a waiting list there. Thanks for any answers you can give.
