I live in Ohio and I paid my atty $2600.00 for his services. I set up a Special Needs Trust for my grandson and a wrote a will. Since my grandson lives in a different state and will need someone to care for him all his life, it was a little more involved than some trusts are.
Of course, different states will vary and even different areas in that state but you first need to find a lawyer you feel comfortable with. Most will do an initial consultation for free or minimal fee so you can judge for yourself how comfortable you feel. Do your homework and research first and you will probably not go wrong.
Borzys, it can vary by attorney, whether the attorney is a sole practitioner or in a firm. And the cost can also vary by the complexity of your needs and desires for your estate plan.
And it can be a package deal; one of the best estate planning firms in my area does estate plans on a lump sum basis.
Sorry, this is a caregiver list. We all come from different states and countries. I would think it would depend on the lawyer. May have to shop around.
