I am taking care of a disabled Vet. Do I qualify for pay?
I am taking care of a gentleman who is disabled vet. I cook, clean house, apply medication to his legs, feed, bathe, walk and give his dog medications. I was wondering if I am entitled to any compensation?
Thanks for your response. I will check/read it as I know he is eligible for the Aid Assistance as he already has someone come in and give him a bath twice a week. Also the VA is checking into putting in a walk in bath/shower for him so he will have easier access. He is in a wheelchair.
If he is low income and few assets, he could apply for VA Aid & Attendance benefits to pay you. BUT he would have to show need for bathing, dressing, feeding, walking. Go up to Money and Legal and click on Veterans Assistance.
