Where to find activities or a social group for my dad in his early 50's and a stroke survivor?

My father had a stroke however he functions well, can speak, memory is excellent . he feels alone and bored so he'll call me often. I want to find something he can do in the day or weekends. I'm in another state and he only has one other sibling where he lives and she's preoccupied with her own life. Any suggestions?

He worked by day and smoked/drink alcohol by night. He was sort of a loner. He need a fresh start and someone to do outings with :/

Well, what did he like to do for fun before the stroke? Playing cards, music performances, car shows? There is no reason he can't still enjoy his hobbies and his old social group, all you should need to do is arrange transportation. He may even enjoy volunteering.
