How do I apply for veterans aid assistance?

I'm a 67 year old, honorably discharged veteran (active duty 1966-1969 inactive reserve 1970-1972). I have numerous medical issues, non service related, and was on disability until age 65. My wife is 57, dissabled W/Multiple Sclorsis. We are Low Income renters living in Section 8 housing. Social Security is are only source of income.

I'd check with any VSO connected with VA and register with the VA if you aren't already registered. Medications would have to be ordered by a VA doctor.

Airwag, contact the closest (a) VFW or American legion post or (b) a state or county veterans' service office and ask for help. It's free. The Legion helped us.

There are a lot of factors and criteria in getting VA assistance for either you or both of you; I spent considerable time working out what was necessary but in the long run found it easier to let the pros handle the application. And they did, and quickly.

Good luck.
