Your cardiology team should be helping you manage your CHF symptoms with diuretics (like Lasix/furosemide, Bumex, etc.). If they are telling you that when you have difficulty breathing you should go to the ER, there are more current protocols that can help you avoid the ER, not let your symptoms get so bad that you have difficulty breathing, and feel better overall. It doesn't cure, but it helps you feel as good as you can as long as you can, and avoid the disruption of your life by going to the ER. It's worth asking about.
