Not all states license them, which is why i provided the link to the national professional organization which at least ensures the members comply with a standard. In the two states that I live in/near (MA and NH) there are no state licenses. In fact most people here that need that service use accountants or lawyers. I also believe PA to be the same.
Thank you. The NAPFA is a good site, but they only have 'advisors". I am looking for what maybe known as an agent under POA in some states? I am looking for Licensed Fiduciary like they have in CA. Here is a link to a website Without a Fiduciary, elders usually must resort to using very costly Lawyers and accountants when all they need is a financial conservator. A "daily money manager" to pay bills, do taxes, etc... This doesn't appear to exist in PA?
Each state has its own licencing process for fiduciaries. However there is also a professional organization called the national association of personal financial advisers that does have members in Pennsylvania. That may be a good place to start.
Generally (but not always) when someone is a fiduciary they are also either lawyer or an accountant CPA. In fact, most elder lawyers have branched out into fiduciary services. You could call your elder lawyer or get a recommendation for an estate planning lawyer from friends in your area and call them to see if they provide this service.
