Does the facility take all of moms share of cost first before billing Medi-cal?

Read the documents carefully. The "share of cost" amount is clearly stated. It will show what she pays and what her PNA (personal needs allowance) amount is. PNA can be as low as $30 per month. My personal advice is to make the facility the representative payee and avoid the record keeping hassle, the reporting hassle, late fees and the arguments with mom.
