Does Medicare pay for any care for Alzheimer's patient as far as home health care?

How exactly did they determine that it was dementia? I've never heard of the secession of speech with dementia coming on suddenly like you described.

I had my husband taken to the hospital by ambulance last night. I thought he was having a stroke, since I couldn't understand anything he was saying. One side of his mouth also was sagging. Tests were done and they said he didn't have a stroke. He has Dementia, is blind and does have diabetes. I am stumped. We have a doctor appointment, but not until next week. I have been looking on the internet and found something called Dysarthria and wondering if anyone else had had experience with that. Right now we can't really communicate with each other. My heart is aching. I don't really know where to turn. Please offer your helpful information or advise.

If a person needs 24 hour home care, Medicare will not pay for that service.
