My Mom is in rehab due to a compression fracture, pain management and depression. While she was there she was evaluated and it was determined that she had mild memory and cognitive losses. I have a meeting coming up tomorrow and would like to know if there are specific concerns to address that would help support her staying in the rehab until an opening comes up in assisted living. She is still working on PT and ST and OT, still has pain, depression and I don't feel that she would be safe at home.

Generally, after a hospital stay, Medicare will pay for 20 days of rehab fully. If the patient is still making progress, they will pay 80% of the cost of days 21-80, PROVIDED the patient is making progress.
I'm glad you're having a care meeting tomorrow. Be sure to discuss her progress, her prognosis and what level of care they feel she will need on discharge. You want to find out if this facility will accept a patient as Medicaid Pending, meaning, she's out of funds and the medicaid application is being done and there is no reason to think it will be denied ( assets under 2000$, no gifting of money or homes in the last 5 years). Understand that if mom has savings, stocks, etc., they need to be used for her care.
