Can I transfer my uncle from a nursing home in one state to a hospital in another?

Pending long term care bed? I have been looking for a Medicare and Medicaid bed for my uncle in South Carolina who needs long term care, but have been unsuccessful. I running out of time before I need to move him from Texas and I'm getting desperate. Can I put him in a hospital until a bed becomes available?
