Father will not qualify for Medicaid. How do I set up legal for private pay?

I am the POA for my father. How do I set up legal for private pay per sisters agreement to pay his care?

See an elder law attorney, especially if dad is not able to pay for assisted living. Sis is proposing to pay his bills? Very kind of her but there are other ways and she has to save for her own elderly years. What if dad had a stroke tomorrow and needed nursing home care? That can be upwards of $12,000.00 a month in my area, lower in some other areas, higher other places.

Find an attorney to help put the many pieces of elder care together.

Your profile says that Dad is in Assisted Living. Is sister proposing to pay for this?

Will he not be able to qualify for Medicaid theough a Miller Trust?

I'm not sure I understand the question, but if your sister is going to do the caregiving for pay, be sure to have a written agreement spelling out what she does and what she is paid. Consulting an Elder Law attorney might be a good idea. Have all taxes and withholding set up properly.

Make sure Sister has regular time off, to prevent burnout!
