My mother (87) who has Alzheimer's refused to allow her doctor to examine her.

The staff at the memory care home where she lives, noticed a small cyst on her left labia and when I took her to her doctor she would not allow him to examine her. She punched and yelled at both him and me. He was able to see a little and prescribed an antibiotic but now a day later after talking to one of the staff who bathes her, I think that perhaps her pessary, that keeps her bladder in place, may have fallen out. I tried to look and so did some of the other staff yesterday afternoon but she was agitated and refused to let anyone look at her. It didn't help that she had been to the dentist the day before and the doctor and then again, yesterday back to the dentist. I think perhaps too much for her and she was very tired. I am going to see her this morning and hope she will let me look at her but no matter what it may be, how do I get her to allow the doctor to examine her to determine what the problem is and is it possible that I can suggest they sedate her so that she is not so traumatized by the whole experience. It was very distressing for her and I feel terrible not being able to help her.
