His mother is 83 years old and wants us to visit her in Hawaii. We visited with her two years ago but my husband's early onset Alzheimer's has progressed to the moderate stage since then. He has had several hospitalizations this summer but is stable now. His mother took several trips earlier this year to the west coast to visit other relatives and for sightseeing. Am I making the right decision by asking her to visit us in the southeast instead?

If his mother doesn't mind flying, it would be easier for her to do the traveling. I remember my Dad's mother flying from the mid-west to the east coast to visit and she was in her late 80's.
Your husband's Mom could stop on the west coast and see some relatives to give her a break before continuing on her flight to your place.
