How to keep my mom in a nursing home to keep getting the care that she's getting?

Mystery21, as you already know your hubby's sister has no idea how much work is involved with a patient who had serious memory issues. People don't realize when a person is now living in a nursing home, there is a very good reason, that patient needs a much higher level of care.

Sounds like an Elder Law Attorney, who can act as a "mediator", [thus, not representing either party] might help. The whole family can sit at the table, ask questions, and if any legal questions come up, the Mediator can answer. Maybe a Social Worker could be present as this isn't their first rodeo. The nursing home could send over a list of what takes place every day.

You and hubby are doing what is in Mom's best interest, and the fact that she is doing better in the nursing home is a clear sigh that this is working.
