saintsfan, one doesn't need to have dementia to get cold feet. Non-dementia people who have thyroid issues usually have cold feet and hands.

Older people get cold feet, with or without dementia. The circulation is not as good as it once was and their activity level is lower. They tend to get cold even when the house is warm. Older people wearing two pairs of socks under their slippers to keep their feet warm is not unusual.

My Dad, 86 with moderate dementia constantly complains about his cold feet. He's had extensive circulation and nerve testing and all was ok. This has been going on for about 5 years which is when I started noticing his dementia. His docs say it is possible the signals are getting scrambled. I got him this sort of slipper garage from sharper image. It plugs in and heats up. He loves it.
