Health care insurance like IHA, BCBS and others only provide home care after a hospital stay. It is a temporary (60 day) service for PT,OT and a visiting nurse while you recover.
Bankers life offers home care coverage. BUT! it is expensive, and doesn't really cover much at first.
You cannot sign up for it when you need it. It is something. You have to purchase years before you need it. My parents paid for theirs for 16 years before needing the coverage. Their benefits are excellent! But...it is less money than they would have had if they had saved that money in a regular savings account for all those years.
Once you are in need....you cannot buy it. Sort of life insurance...at 90 there isn't anyone willing to sell it to you.
