Has anyone read the The Grief Recovery Handbook by Russell Friedman?

I'm still struggling with the loss of my dad. I keep looking and looking for something to read to help me process the loss and move forward. I still have terrible guilt about the last year of his life. And anger at myself and others. I found this book called the Grief Recovery Handbook. I am curious of anyone else has read it? And what they thought about the contents? and if they found it helpful? I guess it never hurts to try. I have also looked at counseling and joining a support group. I need something to help me come to terms with my dad's passing. Feels too surreal. And I still badly wish my dad was still alive.

Thank you Churchmouse. I think I will borrow it from the library. Thank you for trying to help me though with a review.:-) I do appreciate it.

Hm. Well. The people who love it say it's wonderful, and the people who don't are pretty scathing. Nothing new there!

That's the trouble with Amazon, isn't it - you can't dip into a chapter and either think "oh wow, exactly!" or replace it quietly on the shelf/shout "oh FECK off!" and hurl it across the room.

Can you borrow a copy somewhere? Local library? It seems to have been around long enough to be a classic.

No, but I'll look it up.
