I feel so alone as I had to put Dad in a home. Why do I feel so guilty?

Its so hard to make these decisions. You love your dad and only wanted him to be safe and well cared for. Please don't feel guilty for wanting him to be comfortable and safe. I know its hard to see our parents reach this stage in life. You are not alone. We are all here for you. Try speaking with a counselor or joining a support group if needed to help cope with this change.

I know none of us want to see our parents reach this stage of life. Try to be as kind and gentle with yourself as you can. Thinking of you.

Do let him play the guilt card. Caring for your parents means making sure they have good care in a safe place. It does not mean sacrificing your own well being or shortening your own life in the process.
