My mother (96) has become obsessed with her bowel movements. What do I do?

She insists in going to the bathroom at least 8/10 a day and that she needs to poop even though she might have used the bathroom 10 minutes before. I don't know what to do. She also puts her finger inside her annus to make her go. She has been diagnosed with beginning stages of dementia.
