Does anyone have experience with getting long-term care insurance to pay for assisted living or home care support?

I'm in the beginning stages of filing a claim for my mom. After reviewing her policy and after talking to a claims person, I find that I read the policy differently. And of course, the policy is written in such confusing double-speak. Any tips would be appreciated.
