As a veteran, can my father receive reimbursement for having caregivers to his home?

Dad should look to see if he can qualify for VAs Aid & Attendance program. If so, it pays about $1600 a mo to him which he then pays to caregivers of his choosing. Could pay family or pay an agency.

A&A has undergone changes to be more in line with how Medicaid eligibility is done. There is now a spend-down and estate recovery aspect to it. I mention this cause your dad still has his home. I'd suggest you contact your local Agency on Aging to find a VA outreach program to help your dad figure out the system. There should never ever be a charge to file a VA A&A application. If a person or firm tells you there's a fee...... Find another resource. Good luck.

Kathleen, I am moving your question back to the front of the line. Hopefully a caregiver who is familiar with this can answer your question :)
