Can she operate a mobile/call phone of any kind? Even relatively simple devices like this can cause unexpected difficulty for the older generation, way back in the day (20 years ago? LOL) all you had to do was lift the handset on a phone to be instantly connected. Modern phones add the extra step of having to push a button before you can answer or key the number and the location of that button is usually not obvious, it is no larger nor does it stand out in any way from all the others, something those who design phones for the elderly and disabled still haven't taken into consideration.
