In need of air conditioning for my elderly father's home. What are some affordable resources?

His budget is very limited. He is also a veteran. He has had to leave the house for cooler places because his central air is broken and the company he paid last summer to fix it didn't fix it correctly. So now he has no air again this summer. Please guide me to affordable resources! Thank you!

Call your Agency on Aging to see if there are any companies that give breaks to seniors for such items. Sounds like there is a coolant leak going on somewhere in the unit. There is only so much the A/C repairmen can do about that.

If Dad is having issues with paying for repairs in his home, it might be time for him to downsize into something more affordable. There are senior apartments where the rent is based on one's income, then Dad won't need to worry about things breaking, he would just need to call maintenance.
