Is there assistance in getting a person living alone to dialysis?
Oceanside 70 year old stroke victim needs transport to dialysis in Freeport. Is there a bus that can be sent? He is 70 years old and living alone. He needs dialysis 3x per week
Each dialysis center has a social worker. Ask to speak to them and they can assist in getting him transportation. Or call your department of aging - they usually have county bus service that the person can apply for and the patient pays a nominal fee according to his income - maybe $2 or so.
Your best bet is to call your local Agency on Aging to see what is available. Or call the dialysis center and see if they have a list of transport cabs.
