Any advise on how to coax my husband into dressing or undressing, eating and drinking?

His wanderings and chatting to his friends are getting worse. When I ask him to do something he won't for me.  Any help would be appreciated.

This must be very challenging to deal with. I hope you'll get some more suggestions. I think that Teepa Snow has some videos on You tube that are helpful. Of course, everyone is different.

I think that training to work with dementia patients is helpful, because when my LO was in a regular AL, the staff struggled with her resistance to care. (Didn't want to get out of bed, didn't want to change clothes, didn't want to take meds, didn't want to go to dining room, etc.) But, when she went to Memory Care, it was quite different. They seemed to have the patience, focus and ability to get her to cooperate. It was impressive.

Also, if he is depressed, you might discuss with his doctor. Sometimes, depression can cause you to be too lethargic to cooperate. And anxiety can cause fear and hyper behavior. Does he see a geriatric psychiatrist? How old is he?

I think with wandering, you have to ensure that he doesn't leave the house or caretaker alone. I'd explore security devices for the house.
