It doesn't sound like this person is ready for Assisted Living. If she lives in her own home, she could sell the house and move into Independent Living into a nice apartment. She could have an emergency alert pendent and when in use an Aide from the complex would come in to help her. These places average around $4k per month. Some places offer med tech care where a caregiver would come to give her her medicine, at an extra monthly cost.
Now, Assisted Living is for someone who need a higher level of care, like help with bathing, dressing, moving about, but is still able to communicate with others, and get herself to the dining room for meals. And help her with her diabetic meds/shots. Assisted Living is around $5k per month.
The facilities can assess this person to see how much care she needs.
Or maybe that person could hire a caregiver to come daily for a few hours per day to help around the house, if it is within that person's budget. The person can still get an emergency alert pendent in case she falls.
