I need respite care for my husband in 3 months and the assisted living facilities can't guaranteee a room until a couple weeks, possibly, before my departure date. I can't wait that close to my departure date and am even willing to pay the full amount up front to guarantee a room. If the facilities advertise respite, I would think a room or two should be set aside for that purpose. I tend to lose a great deal of money if I cancel, and I really NEED this time for myself after 10 years as his caregiver. Home care can't guarantee that aides would be available, as well, although I don't really want that. Any ideas?

I hope to go talk to a couple places next week - I just can't go when I want since I need a caregiver to stay.
My trip is to Europe and I do have insurance but I am going with a friend and I can't disappoint her either.
Thanks for your caring responses
