Can symptoms wax and wane?

Yes, they can. One day my mom is fine for a few hours and the next thing I know, she goes back to square one. I'm trying to learn how to deal with it. The ups and downs are nerve wracking! Trying to cope with it is a real challenge and I wish you the best of luck. This forum is a great way to start. You can vent all you want and get some really good answers and suggestions.

My Mom has dementia, and when she gets emotionally upset, it usually shuts down a lot of her other brain functions....she become really confused! And yes, I find that she has good days, bad days, and things fluctuate.
