My sibling has been handling some of my mothers business. She has gone and gotten a pre need from a funeral home per the nursing homes request for applying for Medicaid. The nursing home says the insurance policy needs to be changed to the funeral home as the owner of the policy and my sibling says the funeral home wants 50.00 per month for the pre need. Is this legal?

My funeral director told me that insurance companies are making it hard to do this now, putting Funeral home on the policy. I cashed my mother's policy in. The funeral director then helped me set up a trust for payment of the funeral. The check was sent to a company handling the trust. Maybe your Funeral director handles this and is charging for maintaining the accounting of the money?
