Shauna, call your local Caregiving Agency to check out prices. My Dad had caregivers which were a great help, provided him with transportation, and took him to his doctor appointments. It is extremely expensive. For my Dad it was $20k per month.
If you are still in the hospital, the Social Worker will talk with you to set up where you would be living and who will be taking care of you. She can give you list of caregiving agencies.
Or you can check Assisted Living facilities [these are not nursing homes] where you can get around the clock care, the prices are more like $6K per month, depending on location.
Have you had Rehab? Usually Medicare will pay for the first 21 days of rehab where you live at the facility. Then if you need more rehab, then Medicare will pay a certain percentage, and your secondary insurance will pay the rest.
