I've heard from a few people that I could get caregiver pay. Is this true?
I have been my grandmother's caregiver for just over a year now and I take care of her in many different ways and I've heard from a few people I could get caregiver pay. Is this true and how can I get this started? Thank you so much!
You can have a lawyer draw up a CG contract, and get paid by GM if she has the money. , as FF says above. I understand it is hard to be paid by the state.
elebay, the majority of grown children/grandchildren do not get paid for taking care of their parents/grandparents, unless that parent/grandparent can pay the grown children from their own retirement fund.
As staaarrr had mentioned above, you can check to see if your Grandmother could qualify for Medicaid [which is different from Medicare]. Some States have programs that will pay for a relative to take care of a love one, but the pay is quite minimal. Programs are always in a change mode depending on the State budget.
