Thank yu for helping me understand about this p.o.a. w my mom. Cus she's in like a denial phase cus my sister won't talk to her and Idk what else to do.
Bales, residents of nursing homes are expected to pay for the services. In my area, monthly fees are anywhere from $11 - 13,000. Any income up to that amount goes to the nursing home. And available assets are used to make up any shortfall. The POA doesn't have much say in this since the nursing home does have to be paid. Is there more information you can provide to help us give you a better picture?
If you're talking about Medicaid, then yes. All income is turned over to reimburse Medicaid for the nursing home bill, other than a small personal allowance each month. If you're not referring to Medicaid, then I have no idea.
