Is it normal for a mid stage Alzheimer's person to sleep a lot, or could it be the combination of meds?

Some people find that cold and flu medicines make them hyper, so that could definitely have been the problem. Hopefully he will get back to normal soon.

Sleep all day, he takes Ativan and celexa but he has taken that for three years. Recently he had a cold so doc said I could give him mucinex. He seemed to be high and just laid in bed and looked at the ceiling all day then finally went to sleep and slept for 24 hours
i managed to get him up once to go to bathroom and he almost collapsed. I am wondering if the mucinex made him high.

What do you mean by "a lot", and what kind of meds are they on?
