Does anyone have a parent who possibly has a narcissistic/controlling personality?

When they go into a nursing home... they are going to be able to control everyone. How does the nursing home deal with patients who have that type of personality and/or are abusive as well? Will a nursing home admit someone who shows those traits?

Dear Kelly,

I believe a social worker might be able to help you. The parent needs to be fully assessed and then they will be put in the appropriate facility to match their needs. We have lots of high needs elders in our community. There is a lot to review. Their current medical condition. Their medications could also be affecting their behaviour. Their psychological well being. I know its overwhelming but hopefully the doctor and social worker will help you navigate this next stage.
