If a person passed away, will their social security check still be dispensed?
What if a person died Oct. 1st and was supposed to recieve a social security check Oct 11. Will they still recieve it? I want to use the money toward funeral expenses.
They should still receive it. Social Security pays after the month. So, having passed on October 1st there should be payment on the 11th of October covering the month of September.
Of note - if the person had passed on September 30th there would be no payment for the month of September.
