Nydg, you can contact Medicaid [which is different from Medicare] to see if your State offers any type of financial assistance. Some States have programs that pay a caregiver, but the pay will be limited, if any, depending on the State. Medicaid could send out an Aide for a few hours each week to help you, and give you a much needed break.

Check with your local Agency on Aging to see what programs would be helpful for you. If your Mom is a senior citizen she can get Meals on Wheels depending on where you live. Such programs are more available in larger metro areas.
