Cancer, stage 4, bed ridden, muscle loss, 80 years, female, 4 falls, broken hip, surgery for hip, taken off hospice for recovery, put back on hospice, showing signs of dementia, has a hard time swallowing (Esophageal Dysphagia). She is at home. In a hospital bed with rails to prevent her from trying to get up on her own. I am new to this forum, trying to learn as much as I can to give her the best care. She is a close friend of the family. Please reply soonest. Thank you everyone !

She is now in transition stage. She has been unable to swallow. So we are using a macy catheter. Horrible, but neccesary.

She is my first, and a close friend of the family. I will continue to learn, and turn to this site for advice.
I think I have what it takes. Patience, listen and speak slowly, and compassion. I have found my calling.
It's not recommend for the demented elderly.

It's an antipsychotic, but may also be used to treat agitation, nausea and vomitting.
