My 88 year old father who is in Stage 4 dementia doesn’t want to be home alone and my husband and I both work. It’s expensive to have someone at the house while we work, so just wondering if Medicare covers Adult Day Care?
There are a few County senior programs that have limited sliding scale ADC programs. Check with your county senior services or Agency on Aging in your area.
A: Medicare does not pay for any type of adult day care (ADC). Some Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C) may provide partial coverage for these services, but they are not required to do so. However, Medicaid will typically provide some type of coverage, but acceptance into these programs can be challenging.—this is copied from this site, published in July of 2016.
