Does anyone know of an eyeglass place that works with dementia patients?

The elderly need regular check ups. Eyes need to be checked for cataracts and glaucoma. My nephew had glasses at 8 months. I asked how they could examine him and was told it is how the light refraxs on the eye. If person has had cataracts removed, their eyes will never change but should be checked to make sure lens replacement is OK.

Our eye doc said that she will continue to fill the last prescription once DH is unable to sit still for the autorefractor.

I agree about them using an autorefractor. That's how they get a prescription for toddlers who obviously wouldn't be able to participate in a manual eye exam. Autorefractors are quite common. You've probably used one without knowing what it is. Even the cheapest eye exams tend to use it since it saves a lot of time.

They can also get really close to the correct prescription with a machine called an autorefractor.

Your prescription doesn't tend to change very much when you get older, does she really need a vision test? They can make new glasses from her old prescription, and if you don't have that they can figure it out by analyzing the lenses.
