How much money does a family member make for a 40 hour work week taking care of a family member?

I help my son take care of his mother as we are divorced. Social worker told me to put in for payment for a 40 hour work week. What is the pay rate for taking care of my ex-wife? I can use some of what I make to use for her entertainment. She doesn't do a lot but she still likes pedicures and her hair done.

rocklin63, the only way possible for you to be paid if is your ex-wife applies for Medicaid [which is different from Medicare] and she would need to be at poverty level.

Not all States offers such a payment program, and if they do, the number of hours and rate of pay would be very minimal.
