When a patient is accepted into Hospice care and can no longer remain at home, who pays for the services? Does Medicare cover the patient?

The patient is admitted to the facility "Medicaid pending".

But if Medicaid takes months to obtain and a patient only has weeks to live what does the family do?

dmm11730, Hospice service itself is covered by Medicare. The room and board at a facility is paid for by the patient or through Medicaid if the patient is on that program.
