During the last perhaps 3-4 years my mother received 7 hours/week of in-home care for dementia and we paid approximately $63/week. This benefit is based on income, not assets (which she didn't have much of anyway), and her co-pay was based on a sliding scale. She also fortunately had a long-term care insurance policy that was able to pay for another 8 hours/week. We did not apply for medicaid or Mass Health as she would not have qualified except under a frail elder waiver and I wanted to ensure that the house remain unencumbered. I worked pretty hard to keep her out of a nursing home, off medicaid, and in her home until she passed away recently. So although she wasn't on medicaid does anyone think that there could be a chance of a MERP review?
