Mom is 83. Has $10k in bank, has Medicare which is not supporting her needs. How would she qualify for Medicaid in NY?

Not sure about the 2000 thing when they only need services not longtime care. All Medicare pays for is medical needs durable equipment and a few other things. Call Medicaid and see I'd she qualifies for help. They will evaluate. Same with your office of Aging. When it comes to PT call her doctor and ask for an order for PT. A homecare agency will come out to evaluate. If they except her, u maybe to get an aide for bathing. Medicare will pay 80% and her supplimental may pay the balance. Otherwise homecare comes out of pocket.
