My dad served in the Army & Merchant Marines in the late 40s & early 50s. Is my mom eligible for any VA benefits?
My parents divorced before he died.

Merchant Marines are not considered Veterans. Mom being divorced would exclude her from benefits as said.

My FIL was in the army, h3 & my MIL are divorced and she's not eligible for VA benefits.

My MIL and FIL had the same situation. He served in Korea. They divorced after 42 years of marriage. MIL was not eligible for anything. "Divorced" meant she relinquished any claims on any benefits.
