Where do people live when they are finally in stage 7 of Alzheimer's? Who actually will care for them? What sort of facility?

Hospice care may also be appropriate in that stage. It can be offered at home, in a care center, or sometimes in a facility created just for that purpose. Hospice is supplemental care, and the person still needs round the clock caregivers.

Some people can continue to live at home if their caregivers are willing and able to deal with all of the problems that a person in Stage 7 Alzheimer's has. Others reside in "stand alone" Memory Care facilities or in a nursing home's Memory Care Unit. If you are looking for a Memory Care Unit in your location, you can contact your Area on Aging office or other agencies and ask for a list of Memory Care Units near you.
